Legal Question in Family Law in California

child custody and visitation

my son is sharing custody of his daughter with her mom. the mom took off and left the state without telling him to be with another man who is now her husband. my son lives in California and she lives in Virginia they come to a visitation schedule .. where their daughter who is 2 now goes back and forth every 4 months.. but while she is here he has to share her with the moms mother.. my son gets her 8 to 5 everyday and every other weekend the other grandmother gets her the rest of the time... the only reason my son agreed to this is because they intimidated him.. now the grandmother want to move out of the county to live with her boyfriend and my son is tired of the custody arrangement .. he is wanting to go and get it to where his daughter lives with him while she is here among other things.. what are his chances?

Re: child custody and visitation

This question cannot be answered over the internet. There are too many variables to be considered. He should have preference over the maternal grandmother. There is also the question of which state, Virginia or California is the child's home state and has jurisdiction over the custody issue. He needs to consult with an attorney to review all of the facts in his case.
