Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Custody

I have an 8 yr old daughter, and have 50/50 shared custody with mother. Last week while driving my daughter to school monday morning. I was stopped by the police and arrested in front of her. The arresting officer called her mother and informed her immediately of what happened. I spoke briefly the follwing day after my release to daughters mother. On friday morning, three days later, I recieved a phone call from mother. Informing me I needed to be in court on tuesday. No other information. What are my rights under these conditions?

Re: Child Custody

You have the right to receive notice of the hearing date. That notice should include a written document that notifies you what issues are before the court. You should be in court on the date she told you to be there and object to the hearing due to the lack of service. You should consult with an attorney to protect your rights.
