Legal Question in Family Law in California
can my child be emanpipated from one parent
my son is 13 and does not want anything to do with his dad who he has only had a relationship with for a few months. dad has been in prison most of my sons life. my son claims there are drugs being sold in the house as well as being used. he does not want to be in that environment. the original case is in another city where we just moved from. neither parent lives there and we have been here for a few months. how can i get the case transferred to california and is my son old enough to not have to visit with his dad or at least get supervised rights?

You need to file a motion for a change of venue in the original court. They can change the location of the case to the county where the child is currently residing. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
