Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child in foster-care

I have a child that is 14 years old in foster care in the State of California. She wants to be with me in Ohio. She asked her attorney if she would help her come to me. Her attorney will not help her. Her attorney went to her case worker and got me denied permission to call and talk to her, which was part of the order for me to get her back. What can she do, and what can I do to get her back to me?

Re: Child in foster-care

It's difficult to answer based on the facts you gave us. I would need to know exactly why she was placed. I am assuming California was where the Dependency petition was brought. Were you the custodial parent? If so, why is she in California and you in Ohio? Is this a temporary commitment or a permanent one? If it is temporary, there would be a "reunification plan". If so, who is it wit?. If you, what are its provisions? And are you complying with them? These are just some of the questions I have that would need to be answered before I could tell you what to do. If you would like to address them, I will respond.
