Legal Question in Family Law in California

child support

My ex is an American citizen residing now in California, however I'm not and I do live outside the states. Our marriage resulted in having one child who is 14 years old now.He is hiding his real income from me although he does have his own business which claims that it does not make any profits. How to prove the opposite and how do I get our rights from him when I'm half the world away from him????

Re: child support

You don't have to be here to file a case against him. I have represented many clients overseas that I never met. You can have an attorney file and action here and pursue the rights you and your child have.

Re: child support

On a practical level, you would have to retain an American lawyer who would file a new law case or file within an existing law case. Once the case has begun, you, through your attorney, have a lot of power to do "discovery" and to discover a lot of facts about your ex's financial dealings. If you have further questions, please contact our office.
