Child support arrears
Hearing date was set for 5/1/2002 due to a continuance, the hearing was held in June. The new amount of child support ordered at the hearing is an increase of $253.00 per month to begin retroactively on 5/1/2002. Due to the court losing the wage assignment order, my employer just received the wage assignment order Oct. 20 . It specifies that to make up the arrears, my employer must deduct from my check an addittional $50.00 separate from the addittional $253.00. The Order says this must be done until a total of $750.00 has been made up. However, the increase being $253.00 per month from May to Oct. totals $1,265.00
How much of the arrears must be made up based on this information?

Under California law, you are responsible for the payment of court ordered child support whether or not it is deducted from your wages persuant to a wage assignment.
