Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support Arrears

I am writing for information for my adult son (40) who had a mental breakdown tried to commit suicide and although he is not in hospital is very depressed. Was successful had his own business was keeping up with child support. Things started going wrong began getting depressed was having difficulty dealing with job and stress. Feb.31,2002 he sent in papers to court to modify child support payments. They lost the paperwork. He couldn't find copies. Things went down from there. He was diagnosed as bipolar/add, put on wrong meds. Went into manic state. He has lost everything. Has no money, no car, no home, yet he knows he needs to address this but can't get back to CA. to court. Can he write to court? Is there any way this can be done by mail? He cannot come to CA as no place to stay while waiting to appear in court. He cannot stay with anyone because of rages! I want to help him deal with this, but without money can't do much. I'm 63 and have social security only. He is afraid of going to jail. Is presently trying to get work. He is skilled but pay in Nevada is much less than CA. Desperately need help with this. Please help if you can. Thank you

Have your son meet with the family law facilitator located in the court house. They will fill out the papework for free! The alternative would be to hire a paralegal assistant to do the work for you. We provide paralegal services to those who require it.

You will find some valuable information on various family law issues at my web site.

Good luck to you!
