Legal Question in Family Law in California
No Child Support
I am in the begining of a divorce. I have a new baby. Me and my wife have been trying to discuss how we are going to seperate everything as far as property. Its going pretty well. When we got to our home I brought up a point if she was willing to go with it. That point was I would let her have all the money in the home for exchange of no child support for my child's life, its about 70k.. She would take my half as a lump sum for child support. Is there a legal way to handle this? How can I protect myself from future filing of child support on her part. Please help

In a general sense, child support is the right of the child, and parents can not bargain it away or agree to a pre-payment or waiver.
For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
