Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support Calculation and Visitation Information

I am in the initial stages of conducting research. I have a 6 year old son by an ex-girlfriend. Currently, my son visits me every weekend. The financial support I give is for school tuition, clothing, and other essentials as necessary. I believe my son's mother would like to limit the visitation we've agreed upon in lieu of additional financial compensation. I do not agree with this at all. However, if this is the decision of the court, I would like to know how child support would be calcuated. I am currently married. Does the calculation include my wife's income as well?

Re: Child Support Calculation and Visitation Information

It is an extremely complex formula that is done by computer. See if your court has a family law facilitator to help people representing themselves. They can calculate it for you. Your wifes income is a factor. The biggest factor is the % of time you have for visitation. The more hours per month you have them the less you pay.
