Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support Calculations

I have been divorced for two years, and am going back to court to have custody amended as well as my child support. Is there a formula in which the district attorneys office goes by that I can use to figure out how much child support I will be paying? Do they go by a percentage of your monthly income or by your w2?

NOW, IN RESPONSE TO YOUR INQUIRY --

The child support formula is found in Family

Code 4055. It is very complicated and usually

calculated by computer program. There are also

some California Support Calculators that you can

use on the net for a nominal fee. Many family law

attorneys will do the calculation for you during a

free initial consultation.
