Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support

In California how do I determine child support. If I do not work is my husband's income used to figure how much child support my child's father should pay. Also what is a common formula to figure the child's father net income. If the child's father is remarried is his wife's income used in any calculations.

Re: Child Support

A computer program is used to calculate child support. The program uses his gross income, your gross income, the per cent of time the children are with each parent. There are some other factors such as interest on a home mortgage, real property taxes. The new wife income is considered only as it affects the amount of income taxes he actually pays.
