Legal Question in Family Law in California

I had my child support case since 1999 and so far Child Support Dept. hasn't been able to collect anything from my ex-husband. The case is between Maryland because he lives there and me who lives in California. I have explained to them so many times that my ex- works he is a dependent contractor and he has managed to have the company that he gets jobs from writes the check to his helper. There must be a way to catch him. Please tell me what else can I do to have this case resolve and for my ex to pay what he owes my daughters.

It may be time to consider hiring a skilled family law attorney to embark on more aggressive discovery to justify not only the collection of back support but additional enforcement measures that can coordinate with collection in Maryland. If the support case was originally out of Maryland, you should contact an attorney in that jurisdiction and in the county where your ex lives as a starting point.
