Legal Question in Family Law in California

child support, children now adults...

My ex owes approx 25k in back child support. Has not made a payment in 10 years or so. Los Angeles D.A. has done nothing but send letters, which he ignores. Kids are now adults. Is there any chance I will ever collect?

You can obtain an abstract of judgment and record it in the county in which he lives. If he purchases any real property in that county your lien will attach to that property. You can also retain a private attorney to search for assets and collect the child support. Before retaining an attorney you should have some information that he actually has assets from which you can collect.
