Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support when child is in other country

I married an American from San Jose, CA in Bangkok and we have a 4 y/o boy together. Our son has his birth certificate registered at the US embassy, has US passport.

I've never been to US, no greencard and have no wish to go to US. Now my husband filed divorce and Thai court granted custody and child support to me. He told me he won't pay a dime and since he is now back to US. I can't do anything... is this true?

Is there anything I can do to enforce this court order?

Thank you.

Re: Child Support when child is in other country

Some nations are signatories to treaties or agreements to enforce child support custody and visitation orders from the other nations. Check with the U. S. consulate in Bankok about the enforcement of the support agreement.
