Child Support & Custody

If I am moving closer to childrens father but need to have the children stay with him for 7-8 months because it is out of state, what kind of documention do I need to have put together. At the moment we both have joint custody with primary with me.

By allowing the children to reside with father to 7-8 months will put you at risk of the change becoming permanent. A document stating that the children will reside with him for the 7-8 months and then returning to live with you may be of some help. You should check with an attorney in the state in which the father and children will be residing.

you should let him but you should discuss issues of child support and whether this affects his right to seek more custody.
