Legal Question in Family Law in California
Child Support Delinquency
I have read that if a parent does not pay the court ordered child support, the legal custodian of the children can collect any tax refunds, cancel their business liscence, put the delinquent amount on their credit and have the drivers licence cancelled. However, the child support brochure through the DA's office does not tell you how to do it. How do I go about this. My X works jobs where he is an independent contractor or classified 'self-employed' to avoid wage attachement and the Child support services washes their hands of it when that occurs. He has not paid his court ordered child support for 14 years, yet is still in contact. I have tried off an on to enforce payment and nothing ever happens. What can I do to anitiate the other repercussions listed above? I have written to the child support services office and they have not responded to me in months.

Re: Child Support Delinquency
A child support order is a serious commitment. You need to ensure the order is correct and for the right amount.
The state and attorneys have many arsenals at their disposal for collecting child support.
As always, please contact a qualified attorney prior to taking any legal action.
Good luck,
