Legal Question in Family Law in California
Child Support
I am a divorced male and have been paying my ex-wife child support for our two daughters for about twelve years now. My divorce papers state that I can discontinue payment when my children graduate high school. My eldest daughter recently graduated and I wanted to start giving her the money directly. When I explained this to my ex-wife, she threatened to take me back to court to sue for more money for our second daughter. She said she could be taking as much as 25% of my pay check for one child. Does she have a case? If so, what should I do?

Re: Child Support
No, she does not have a case ubnless there is a "change in circumstances" recognized by the court that would rate a change in your child support. Your ex has gotten use to the income and does not want to lose it.
