California law ends the obligation for child support when the child is 18 or up to the age of 19 if the child is still in high school.

The obligation to pay child support ends when the child turns 18, or if child is in high school, then until child graduates from high school or turns 19, whichever is first. Note that this does not satisfy the obligation of the parent to pay arrearages.
