Legal Question in Family Law in California

When does child support end?

My order says, ''pursuant to Civil Code 196.5, child support shall continue as set forth above and extend as to any unmarried child who has attained the age of 18, is a full time high school student and resides with a parent, until such time as he or she completes the 12th grade or attains the age of 19, whichever first occurs.'' My daughter is graduating when she's 17, will she still receive support until she turns 18, or will it end the day she graduates? Thanks very, very much!

Re: When does child support end?

Child supoort continues until her 18th birthday. The provision in your question applies only when the child reaches 18 and is still a full time student in high school. then child support ceases when the child graduates from high school or becomes 19. Whe the first of these two conditions are met chils support ceases.
