Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child support in equal primary custody

I would like to know how I can legally refuse child support if both parents have equal primary physical and legal custody. My income is substantially higher than my wife's. But I don't think I should pay anything If I have equal custody.

Re: Child support in equal primary custody

One of the stated purposes of the current child supprt law is to allow the child to enjoy the same standard of living with both parents. That is to avoid the possibility that the child will live in poverty with mom and in a wealth y atmosphere with father. Thus the schedule would provide for you to pay support to help equalize income, ability to financially care for the child.
