Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support Forever for Aspbergers Child

Have 70/30 visitation going fine until last year, mom does not allow visits. saw son only four times since last April. Mom has created hostile relationship w/me and son. Divorce order says pay until 18 graduates or 19 whatever comes first. Son has Autism/Asbergers does that mean I have to support him forever? If mom let me have my visitations w/him I could help him, but mom will not work with me. Battle has been since 1996, in court every year for more child support. What can I do to protect myself?

Re: Child Support Forever for Aspbergers Child

You can always go to court and seek the existing order be modified based on some change of conditions. If your son has autism and graudation from high school does not seem likely, then it seems you will only be required to pay child support until the child reaches the age of 19 as that would come first, before graduation.
