Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child support

My girl friend is a Canadian and she lives in Canada. I am an American and I live in California.

My question is: If my girl friend becomes a mother, can she demand child support from me and under what jurisdiction?

She can contact the Canadian authorities and they will contact the California Department of Child Support Services. A complaint for paternity and child support will be filed in CA. Your support obligation will be set under California law. Which may well be higher than the support set by the Canadian court.
