Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support

My girlfriend and I have a child. I pay her $200 a month as requested. She does not let me see the child often. She says she will move to Mexico with the child if I do not join her religion and marry her. She is not a legal resident. How can I keep the child here? Can she get a child support judgement and leave the country while having a family member send her the money to Mexico?

Re: Child Support

To protect your relationship with your child the first step is to establish that you are the legal father and seek custody, visitation, and support orders from the court. This is done through a Parentage case, commonly called a paternity action. When you file your case, you can also file papers telling the court that there is a danger the other parent will take the child out of the country and asking for orders preventing her from doing so without permission from you or the court.
