Child support

If you give up your rights to your child do you still have to pay child support for this child or will giving up your rights relinquish your responsibilty for child support? and if so how do you begin the process? Will back child support still have to be payed? the mother of this child moved and will not allow the father to see his child and he has not seen her for over 3.5 years. She has gotten married since this time and has 3 other children also... Also how can you recieve a perternaty test for a child you have a court order to pay for and do not believe it is yours and they refuse to do a perternaty test and there is no known father on the birth certificate. the court refuses to do a perternaty test saying he took to long to come forward and ask for one, but if the child is not his how can they require him to pay child support without proving the child is his?

Terminating parental rights does not terminate parental responsibilities and therefore child support will still be owed. If there exists an order for support it is probably too late to request DNA testing, however, he should contact an attorney in the county where the order is filed and ask that question as much more information will need to be given to the attorney and he may need to review the court file.
