Legal Question in Family Law in California

child support

My husband has a daughter living in California. We live in Louisiana.

We've been sending money for a year even though it wasn't decided in court, only verbal agreement. We've seen the child last Christmas, (limited) and also we made a trip to California in April this yr. (also limited). Now the mother is demanding

we send more money. We send more than enough already! What are the laws for child support and visitation rights?

Thanks for hearing me out.

Sincerely

We Miss Her!!

Re: child support

Your question is far too open ended to answer specifically. Child support is based on a formula which includes the income of both parents, the amount of time the non custodial parent spends with the child, child care expenses, medical insurance costs, etc.. Visitation is based on the best interests of the child which, of course, vary in every case.

Re: child support

If you don't know what the support laws are how do you know if you send "enough" already? You need o check with an attorney to determine the amount of support. It depends on several factors. See my web site at www.sbdivorcelawyer.com for more information.
