Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child support

My husband is paying child support. The ex demands additional money for clothes and shoes. Should he pay? Also the court order states support ends at 18/grad from high school. Can the ex have it change to say complete college?

Re: Child support

Clothing is presumed to be inclued in the child support order and the judge will not make an order on those items. However, the guideline child support formula assues each party is paying their pro-rata share of the incidental costs. Also, if he has an old order and a current guideline order would increase his child support payment he may be better off contributing if it keeps her out of court and from asking for a current guideline order.
