Legal Question in Family Law in California

child support

My husbands 18 yeard old child In three years has moved to three diff states and many diff homes. has only gone to school for about 5 months in three years. When she turned 18 and the support was to end her mom filed for extened support saying she was in high school but in the state of nv she can not reg in high school. the state of cali is telling him HE has to prove that she is not. That is hard to do when his child will not talk to him or let the rest of the family know where she lives. Is there any thing he can do to fight this?

Re: child support

You need to set a hearing to determine whether the child is in fact going to school or not. Otherwise you would be paying for an additional year to have the child finish schooling.

Good luck.

As always please consult a qualified attorney before taking legal steps.
