Legal Question in Family Law in California

child support

How Do I go about getting child support interest deducted due to incarceration?

I have not had income since 2000 due to incarceration. Now owe 97,000 back child support for 2 children this includes interest.

Oldest child is 20 (with child of her own) and left home at 15. Second child is 16 and still home.

I recently have been released and need to take care of this problem. I have no job, money, or home yet, but am afraid my license will be taken away, in which case I will be unable to get a job.

Please advise.

Thank you

Re: child support

You should consult a local attorney to help you file the appropriate paperwork. In the alternative you may be able to do self help with the local family court facilitator in your court house.

Please contact a qualified attorney before you take any action.
