Child Support Issue
I presently pay a large amount of child support for one 15-year-old Autistic son. Is it possible to reduce the amount of support if I have more dependents? I was single the last time she took me to court 2 years ago for more money and now I am married and my wife is supporting her 2 daughters in the Philippines and sending checks from our joint account monthly. I am sponsoring them as well to get them here. One is 18 and the other is 13.

Re: Child Support Issue
Step children do not count for hardship deductions. In fact, if they are dependants, as well as your wife, your then your take-home pay goes up and you would pay additional child support. However, if your new wife is working your child support may go down because you are in a higher tax bracket. All of this may seem backward, but it is the law. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
