child support

what is the legal and financial responsibility of the man who is not married to the women? The women has not yet given birth. The man does not want the child. The women is using this pregnancy as leverage. Please help

The man has the obligation to pay 1/2 the medical expenses not covered by insurance and maybe some of the pregnancy related expenses. The man will of course have to pay child support once the child is born. But the man will have a right to child custody. With sufficient child custody, the man could potentially get child support from the mother.
