Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support

How long can child support be received? My son is 19 and goes to community college? The child support comes directly from the fathers check through a wage assignment (not through the D.A. office). The child support is court ordered. Until what age can we continue receiving the support. If the child quits school, how do we stop it?

Re: Child Support

The order for child support has terminated by operation of law (age 19 at latest) It can continue as long as father is willing to make the payments. The court cannot force him to continue to make payments. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
