Child Support - My ex lost his job

My ex was making about 11k per month and was paying $950 per month in Child support. He is taking me to court to suspend payments. Can he do this? should I attend court in Pro Per, I cant afforda alwayer escpecially if I am going to have CS suspended. What can I do?

He can file a motion or OSC to change child support. The real issue is can he get the child support reduced. Child support is based on his income, your income and the amount of time the child is with each parent. You should consult with an attorney regarding the amount of child support. If there is a significant discrepancy in your incomes he could be ordered to pay your attorney fees.
