Legal Question in Family Law in California
Child support
My ex met someone and got her pregnant and now he stopped paying the child support amount that he was paying for the last four years, what are my rights? It is in the court order that he pay this amount, but he just wont. The judge originally told him he would have to pay a higher amount, $3300 per month, but I only said he had to pay $2500 total with alimony being only 340. per month, the reason for this was because I empathized with him and knew I could make it on $2500. I then went to school for the last four years to get a degree. Now I wish I would have let the order dictate the amount instead of being such a sap. What should I do? Who do I call, see etc.? We have been legally separated for four years and our divorce has not been finalized, are the documents we originally filed still valid? We need to do the final documents still.

Based upon the figures you have provided, it appears that your spouse may have been earning a reasonably good salary. Unfortunately, the information provided is insufficient to enable me to give an informed opinion and I therefore suggest that you retain the services of a family law atorney who can provide assistance.
