Legal Question in Family Law in California

child support

i am 7 months pregnant and my husband received a letter from child support from an exgirlfriend that he hasn't seen in years. Her baby is not even a year old which means it can't be my husbands. She is trying to get health care insurance for her son. My husband said that the baby is not his and he has never slept with her. A few days later her mom goes into his work and apoligizes about the letter and tells him that they found the father. If my husband really didn't sleep with her can I sue her. When I recieved the letter I cryed for days because I was so stressed out. Something could have happened to my baby over something that she knew for a fact wasn't true. I'm stressing out now because I am constantly thinking about it. If I am able to sue would we beable to have him take I lie detector test to prove he didn't sleep with her and have her pay for it. Would I even get anything out of this or would I be wasting my time. If its not true I want her to suffer like I have been doing.

Re: child support

You cannot sue this woman but your husband can sue her for defamation. Are you ready to pay $30,000 to get whatever money she probably does not have? That would be the legal fees.
