Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support overpayment and frozen passport.

My husband has had payments coming out of his check for past due child support. The state of OR has a support claim then transfered it to CA. Now his credit report shows that he owes double, one in CA and one in OR. They are over by 4 grand each and we actually have 0 in debt, as I have kept all taxes they have taken as well as other. So in a nut, they say we owe over 8,000.00 When we have over paid. They have froze his passport and Im in the service, which means we could get stationed over seas and he would not be able to join his current family. We are very close to his first marrage kids. But we are getting no where with child services, specially since we are dealing with two states on the same case. They are not communicating. So one takes our taxes, but does not communitcate it to the other and vs versa. What can we do legally to have his passport removed his credit report fixed and the amount corrected. HELP !!!

Re: Child Support overpayment and frozen passport.

You are probably going to need to retain an attorney to work this out. Many times, the dad is guilty just because he is the dad, and child support services is difficult to work with. You will need to file a petition to determine arrearages in both jurisdictions, and you will need someone to fight on your behalf.
