Legal Question in Family Law in California

How do I know how much child support I should pay, while separated.

My wife and I have separated and are trying to reconcile. My question is how do I calculate child support payments. We both make the same amount of money annually. If we both make 40,000 a year and child-care is $350.00 monthly. How do I calculate a fair amount of support. My wife is caring for my child and we alternate weekends.

use any amount you can agree on

There are formulas the court uses based on income when the issue is forced but when you and your wife are negotiating a temporary situation while trying to work things out you free to use any amount you can agree on.
