Child Support

My question is, "is there any way lawfully that I can avoid child support?" I am a 19 year old male who got my ex-girlfriend pragent and do not wish to be a father. I want her to put the child up for adoption, but she is denying this opition. Now if I don't become engaged with her she says she will slap "child support" on me! Is there any possible way lawfully to aviod this type of threat?
