Child Support

I receive child support of $1000. a month, my son is 16 years old @ March 24th the father contacted me and offered a settlement of 15,000. to end his obligation. Is my son entitled to any more child support after the age of 18 if he continues to attend school? (College) I'm a single parent and am concerned.

Re: Child Support

The child is entitled to child support until he is 19 or is 18 and no longer in high school. You will need to get a court order modifying child support. Childsupport cannot be waived and an outside agreement is unenforceable unless certain criteria are met and agreed to by the court.
