Legal Question in Family Law in California
Can child support be reduced if you re-marry and have another child?
My wife and I are expecting a baby and we were wondering if the amount of child support that I am paying to my ex-wife can be reduced based our change in circumstances.

In a general sense, yes. You would be entitled to a "hardship deduction" for the new child, and everything else being equal, the result would be a reduction in guideline child support.
For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!

Yes, any change in circumstances, especially "financial hardship", is subject to a modifying order by the court to promote balance and overall fairness. You would need to set up an OSC hearing (order to show case) to make the necessary and prompt modifications in your existing order.
