Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child support and relocation

I'm a noncustodial parent. My child support order is in the state of Texas. After I relocate to California do I need to contact CA's child support agency at all? Or do I continue to deal with TX's child support agency ONLY for the garnishment of my wages, visitation, etc.?

Re: Child support and relocation

You should continue to pay the child support directly to the Texas agency or the other parent. Do this faithfully. California has the highest child support schedule in the US. If the child support case is moved to California then child support will be calculated by California law. Visitation and custody issues would continue to be heard in Texas.
