Child Support After 18

Does the State of California allow a parent to seek child support after age 18 if the child is a full-time college student living at home?

If your divorce isn't finalized yet, you could negotiate to include post-18 child support and/or college expenses, but like the previous response indiciated, absent an agreement, the responsibility ends at 18/high school graduation.

No once the child reaches 18 years of age and has graduated from high school the legal obligation to support the child ceases.

This can be changed by agreement to include support while the child is attending college. The minimum age cannot be lowered. That is age cannot lowered below the statutory age.
