Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child support

Is there a statute of limitations on a court order for child support? I just found my ex-husband and he owes me $20,000+ for child support originally ordered in 1978. My children are now 35, 34, & 33.

Re: Child support

If you have a child support order that is in place and not paid, there is no limitation period on collection of that support judgment. You will almost certainly need legal assistance to collect the judgment. I recently taught a seminar to attorney's in the local courthouse called "Show Me the Money" and would be happy to help you if your contact me. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
