Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support temporary modification

My husband is was currently laid off from his job. Does child support typically stay the same regardless of losing your job? Is it worth it to try and get a temporary modification or does he just have to pay back support most likely when he gets another job?

Re: Child Support temporary modification

child support continues to accrue until the court modifies the amount. The court may not modify child support after it becomes due. Filing a motion to modify child support establishes a date after which the court may modify child support.
