Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support

I was unemployed for four years and during that time I did not pay child support. I am now working and I started paying child support about a year ago. Can my wages be garnished eventhough I am paying?

Re: Child Support

There are certain questions that I would need answered to give you a full response. The bottom line is that by law all child support should be paid via a wage attachment if you are employed. From the facts you mentioned it appears you owe arrears and current support. You may be able to go into Court and get arrears reduced to a reasonable payment in conjunction with paying current support. I need more info to fully answer your question.
