Legal Question in Family Law in California

child support

my wages are being garnished by CSSD and i have 2 kids. 1 child is in my primary care and the other in my girlfreind. I made an agreement with my girlfreind to give her money up front to pay her car off and we signed an agreement so that I do not have to pay child support for 2 years, but CSSD told me because she is on welfare i can not do that. What can i do? can i take primary care of my other child so i do not have to pay child support?

Re: child support

Mother cannot bargain away the child's right to support. Further when mom applies for welfare she assigns the right to child support to the county.

Re: child support

I am assuming that they didnt like the payment, maybe it was an income issue since she is on welfare. We would need to know more about your situation on why CSSD disapproved of your arrangement. I would consult with a Family Law Attorney ASAP.
