child support after 5 years

hi, i have been divorced for over 5 years now, and i recantly received a ntification of child support against me, when the mother of the child was 2 months pregnant, she left to another stat do to a separation that her mother created by informing us that the babys mother was seeing another man, and he was the father. she came back to california when she was 8 months pregnant and had her baby in CA, the first 4 months i supported her with money in money orders which till this day i have copies of. One day i received a call where i was told not to visit baby no more, and just like that they disappeared, now after 4 years, i get this notification, what can i do?? thank you in advance.
