Legal Question in Family Law in California

had a child out of wedlock,was denied visitation, so was the plaintif and tried to establish an order she contested my paternity and also stated that if i was determined to be the father she would want some astronomical amount of support ,so at our hearing the judge ordered standard law, a support order and mediation , so i got visitation , every other weekend and payed my support , then after 8 years and without any notice she left the state i never saw my child again ,it ruined me ,deep depression lost everything she is 18 now and they live in wasington can i sue her mother for taking 10 years of my childs life from me if so do i have a case

As we Irish say, I am sorry for your troubles. But really, do you think you can do nothing for ten years about a gross violation of a court order and then sue over it? All you had to do ten years ago was file for a contempt of court citation against her when she left the state, and she would have had to return or face parent-kidnapping charges. I'm not a religious person, but there's an old saying that the Lord helps those who help themselves. The same is true for the law. It has no remedies available for people who do nothing for years and then expect to be able to sue.
