Legal Question in Family Law in California

my children live with me and have since they were born. We have never been through the courts to make it official. well i want to move out of state where it is cheaper and more affordable for me to raise my kids but their dad will not let us go. he served me so that we share legal custody and i still have physical custody. what can i do to make it possible for me to move?

File a request with the court to move away as part of the shared custody order. The Family Law Facilitator's office in your local county court can help you.
