Legal Question in Family Law in California

He's claiming the kids but never sees them or pays a penny

My Husband for which I am legally seperated from since 2002--has been claiming our 4 children on his income tax returns for the past 4 years --even tho he does not even see them nor pay the court ordered $1391.00 in child support that was ordered in August of 2002. He owes both the state and me tens of thousands of dollars in child-support and I recently foound out that he bought some land and a manufactured home in riverside. He probably has it hidden in his moms name--what can I do ? Here is is claiming the kids when he doesnt support them at all and then before he pays his debts he buys land and a home while we live in poverty

You can have the court compel him to produce an income/expense summary, as well as cite him for contempt for failure to honor the existing court ordered support agreement. If you would like a free consultation, contact us directly.

You can report this to the IRS or file your tax return claiming the children. The IRS will then investigate and require both of you to provide proof that you are entitled to claim the children. The local child support enforcement agency should assist you in collecting the current and past due child support. A private attorney could also assist you in this process.
