Legal Question in Family Law in California

Clarificaiton on California Family Code 3901completion of high school

My son is 18 and should have graduated high school this year in June, however he failed three classes due to truancy and is in the process of taking make up classes during the summer.

My ex contends that I will continue to owe child support up to and until the time he finishes the classes and "graduates high school"

I contend that the school year is complete and the fact that he did not earn a diploma does not extend the period.

California Family code does not specify graduation,

Legally who is correct?

I don't know the intricacies of CA law, but usually the decree of divorce as an order of the court will specify when child support concludes. I would expect that other cases in CA have answered this question if the statute is silent on the issue.
